Go local first to dine and discover

Liverpool Plains Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Doug Hawkins OAM, is urging eligible local businesses to register so they can redeem Dine and Discover NSW vouchers and all residents 18+ to apply for the 4 x $25 vouchers which they are entitled to under the scheme.

“We know a lot of hospitality businesses have done it tough over the past 15 months. The NSW Government has launched Dine and Discover NSW to encourage the community to get out and about and support local dining, arts and tourism businesses. Once you’ve got your vouchers you can use them up until June 30.

“The vouchers are designed to stimulate the economy and encourage residents to head back into their favourite local haunts. Dine and Discover NSW vouchers are a great opportunity to treat yourself, and at the same time support local businesses,” Councillor Hawkins said.

“I urge local businesses that have not applied to be part of the scheme to register without delay. Once approved as a Dine and Discover NSW  business, you’ll be able to accept and redeem vouchers straightaway. You'll be able to do this through the Service NSW for Business app. For all you need to know and to register go to https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/register-business-dine-discover-nsw, he said.

“All residents 18+ are entitled to two $25 vouchers to be redeemed at participating food venues, and two $25 vouchers to be redeemed at participating entertainment venues. For details on how to apply go to https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-dine-discover-nsw-vouchers, he continued.

Dine Discover NSW 002“The vouchers can be used 7 days a week, including public holidays at participating NSW businesses that are registered as COVID Safe,” he said.

“If you do not have a MyServiceNSW account or you're unable to apply online, you can call 13 77 88 for assistance,” he continued.

Councillor Hawkins said there were already businesses in Quirindi, Werris Creek, Willow Tree, Currabubula and Premer registered where locals can use their vouchers for a meal. He said he hoped more businesses would get themselves registered as soon as possible.

Residents can find participating businesses at https://mybusiness.service.nsw.gov.au/dine-and-discover/business-finder.

“I don’t think anyone needs extra encouragement to have a meal out or enjoy some down time after the past year, so I encourage Shire businesses to register now so they can reap the benefits and locals to apply for the vouchers and then use them at local businesses. It is important to remember that when you go local first you are supporting the local economy and employment opportunities,” Councillor Hawkins concluded.
