Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) is committed to supporting NSW Health as the lead agency responsible for responding to COVID-19. The health and safety of our community and our employees are Council’s highest priorities.
Council’s Senior Management Team is meeting regularly to review business operations and the ongoing servicing of the LPS community. Action responses are based on advice provided by NSW Health.
After considering this advice, Council has suspended a number of activities. All Home Support Service non-essential activities have been postponed and a Risk Management Protocol implemented for Meal on Wheels services. All non-essential activities at Libraries have also been postponed. The Young at Heart program at Plains Fitness has been suspended. NSW Health advice is that Gym classes are currently OK, and appropriate hygiene arrangements have been instituted. Council will regularly review its position and respond to evolving circumstances.
Council is reiterating the importance of social distancing, hand washing and good hygiene practices to staff. Everyone in the community is encouraged to maintain personal hygiene and make responsible choices for their benefit plus their families and our community.
Council is promoting the NSW Health site www.health.nsw.gov.au and the Facebook page ‘NSW Health’ as the primary source for information and health updates. Council is also sharing NSW Health advisories on its Facebook page. Everybody is encouraged to stay informed.
Council’s objective is to maintain current level of services to residents and businesses during this period based on advice from the State and Federal Health authorities regarding safety protocols. Ensuring we can continue to deliver services safely is a priority and the situation is continually being monitored by staff.
Members of the community choosing to social distance can still carry out business with Council via the website www.lpsc.nsw.gov.au, by emailing email@example.com or by calling the Customer Service Desk on 6746 1755.
