Mayor urging residents to vote for LP Visitor Information Centre at NSW Tourism Award’s, People's Choice Award competition

Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) Mayor, Councillor Andrew Hope, is encouraging the Shire’s residents to get behind its Visitor Information Centre (VIC) at Willow Tree and vote in the NSW Tourism Award’s, People's Choice Award competition. He said this award gives the public a chance to vote for their favourite 2016 Finalist at the NSW Tourism Awards with the most votes being announced as the 2016 People's Choice Winner at the 2016 Award Night on Thursday 24 November.

“There are Shires/Councils with much bigger populations than ours who have a tourism finalist berth at the awards, so in many ways we’re in a David vs Goliath situation, but if as many residents as possible voted for our VIC we could put up a great showing. The VIC has been chosen as one of six finalists for Visitor Information Services, one of numerous categories at the awards, and this is a great achievement for the team. Nikki and her team do a wonderful job welcoming visitors to the region and as such strongly support local economic development,” Councillor Hope said.

“Voting closes at 5pm on Monday 7 November so I encourage residents to get in now and go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NSWTourismAwards2016 to cast a vote. You can only vote once per computer/device so I encourage everyone to also share details with family, friends and work colleagues,” he said.

There are prizes for some lucky voters including 2 x Premium tickets to Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour in 2017, valued up to $658.00, 1 night in a one bedroom Villa including Breakfast and a round of golf for 2, including cart hire, valued up to $570, a Zoofari Lodge experience at Taronga Western Plains Zoo which includes accommodation in a unique luxury lodge, exclusive behind the scenes tours an African inspired Dinner and breakfast, two day Zoo admission and bike hire valued up to $1,156.00 and a BridgeClimb at Twilight for 2 people valued up to $746.00. There are some conditions and exclusions for these prizes which entrants can check out on-line,” he continued.

Please support the Liverpool Plains VIC by voting for them. They do a great job on behalf of the Shire and the wider region,” Councillor Hope concluded.
