According to Liverpool Plains Recreation (REC) Centre Manager, Annah Maybury, Tai Chi is often described as meditation in motion.
“The REC Centre is running a 5 week Tai Chi Program commencing Thursday April 27 at 4.30pm. Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that can help maintain strength, flexibility and balance and for certain people could be the perfect activity as they grow older,” Annah said.
“The cost of the program is $50 upfront for the 5 weeks or $15 per casual class. If you’re interested in participating, call in at the REC Centre or email firstname.lastname@example.org,” she continued.
Annah said there had been a lot of interest shown in the ‘try before you buy’ Muay Thai boxing and self defence class with Ben Burrage. She said that as a result the full 6 week course would now start on May 19.
“Interested persons should note that the course will now run on Fridays rather than the originally planned Mondays. It will cater for 3 – 5yo, 5 – 15yo and Adults. Please contact me at the REC Centre asap if you are interested in being part of this program,” Annah said.
“The REC Centre endeavours to cater for all age groups and abilities. For young people we’re holding special Kids Fit classes on Thursdays 13 and 20 April from 10:30am-12pm. To avoid disappointment parents should register their children for this program,” she said.
We’d love to see more kids come and join in the fun of a full range of different actives that keep them entertained plus at the same time teaching them an improved aspect to health and fitness,” she continued.
“I invite residents to call in at the REC Centre to find out more about programs that are available or give us a call on 6746 3122. We’d love to be able to show you how health and fitness can be good for you and fun at the same time,” Annah concluded.
